Prized as one of the finest tropical decking materials available, the Decking Superstore’s Garapa (Brazilian Oak) is a beautiful golden honey-hued hardwood, with an average lifespan of over 25 years.
Garapa is a very stable and dense wood, perfect for any decking and siding application. Garapa is a responsibly and sustainably harvested wood that’s strong, durable, resistant to wood rot, mold and decay. This hardwood is stronger, harder and heavier than oak. Garapa’s high density and natural oils make it resistant to termite attacks as well. When left to weather naturally, Garapa hardwood turns a silvery tone similar to the look of weathered Ipe decking.
Inset: Garapa Vertical Grain Closeup
Perfect for decking around pools and hot tubs, Garapa has a tight grain that naturally repels water.
Slip and scratch resistant, Garapa delivers a splinter-free decking surface that is both affordable and beautiful. Despite its density, Garapa is relatively easy to work with, glues and finishes well, and is dimensionally stable and durable – even in the most extreme climates.
